How often do you clean your wave makers ?

Interested in how often other reefers are cleaning their wave makers ?

I clean my MP60s/40s about once a year or maybe twice depending on how they look.

I voted every 6 months, but its probably closer to every 3-4 months.
Definitely not every 2-3 months, but probably not going 6 months either.... somewhere in between.

I just picked up some citric acid and used it for the first time on my wavemakers and they look like they are brand new again. very impressed with citric acid.

once or twice a year, depending on the performance. I hate it cause I can never get them back on exactly as they were. 10 minutes to clean them followed by 2 frustrating days of fidgeting with them to get them exactly right again.

I voted every 6 months but how often I clean them has changed as my tank has matured. When my tank was new and algea was more prevalent I would clean them much more frequently. Now that my tank has become more mature and I don't get algea like I used to I rarely clean them, a few times a year at the most.

I get algae growth on mine and gunk stuck in it. Usually have to clean mine monthly
