Well I have really just began to feed my chalices to see if there is any difference in growth and I am wondering how often you all feed your chalices? I have fed for a few days in a row now but should I keep feeding everyday or should I lay off and do it less frequent?

I do mostly light broadcast feeding 3-4 times a week. Sometimes 1-2 times a week spot feeding, but if so only a small amount.
You don't need to feed at all and if you do feed, everyday seems like too frequent unless it's a small amount.

All my LPS gets fed twice a week either mysis, krill, or silversides.

This is with the flow off and direct feeding. You really don't need to go that far, but a lot of my stuff I'm growing out for propagation purposes so anything to increase rate of growth is worth the time in my book.

I have fed my chalice once in over a year. Its the only time i have even seen feeders come out..

+1 feed mine via feeding the whole tank, but I'm going to tried to target feed chalice and all LPS once a week and see if any difference within a month.

I almost never directly feed mine. Too many fish in the tank.

...and I'm lazy :o

Chalices, in fact most corals, don't eat phyto directly, FWIW. But it's great for feeding the "mini ecosystem" you have going in your tank.

I dont direct feed. I just feed the fish and they if they grab sumthin its theres well if the fish dont take it away from them

Interesting, most people arent feeding and the ones that do feed only do it around 2-3 times a week. This is great info. I am glad that all of you took the time to post I am going to cut back and just feed probably 3 times a week for a while but only small amounts and then I will adjust what I need to do from there. Thanks again Everyone. Dustin

I'm not sure I would "cut back" as long as your system can handle the food and you aren't as lazy as I am. I'm sure it helps growth if you feed....

I will work on it. It is a 120 gallon frag set up with a 40 gallon sump and no fish in it right now. it can handle it right now but maybe not in the future. I hope that it helps because I have a ton of trades that I need to make. I am going to just keep my eye on them and see how things come out.
