Hello, yesterday I picked up a midas blenny for my 32 biocube with two clowns, zebra dartfish and a wrasse. I feed them once a day but after getting the blenny I was made aware that they sometimes have problems with starving. I don't want to overfeed or make my tank dirty so should I split it into two smaller feedings per day? Also is this fish disease prone or is it just if they have the disease they will get skinny and starve while also eating?

3x minimum and offer meaty foods such as LRS fish frenzy and mysis shrimp

I didn’t change anything about the way I feed when I added my Midas blenny. I feed a small amount of pellets twice a day and then frozen once a day. So I guess I do feed my tank 3 times a day.

What kind of pellets

Thanks. Are these fish just prone to parasites or is it the fact that they starve or both?
Starvation mostly, from my understanding:

I'd say this applies to most blennies - especially ones like the lawnmower or starry. They need a lot of algae to keep them satisfied. I never had luck with lawnmower or starry blennies in tanks under 25 gallons (although the midas started out in a 25 gallon), so I think the survival and longevity rate is proportional to the size of the tank to some extent.

That would make sense to me (and Jay Hemdal actually mentions lawnmower's specifically - noted as algae blennies - suffering from this issue in the link above too), as bigger tanks would have more real estate for algae growth which the lawnmower and starry blennies could forage on.

We picked up a new lawnmower blenny a few months ago (Rigel IV) and he's fattened up quite a bit. This guys is grazing like 23/7...

They can be susceptible to ich, bacteria and internal issues
Good diet and water quality diminishes the potential

1x a day, but a varying diet throughout the week. there is some GHA on the back glass that grows from time to time that it goes for once in a while.

My blue midas eats everything I put in the tank and if I walk by without feeding the tank he comes up to the front and wiggles furiously demanding food. I feed 2-4 times a day a mix of prepared and frozen foods including flake, pellet, mysis, brine shrimp and copepods.
