Right now, I only have one ocellaris clown - a little guy, maybe 1.25”. Most of the fish I’m looking at, the books say feed twice a day. Is that too much? I’m only feeding once a day now, mainly because when I leave for work in the morning, he’s still sleeping and won’t eat.

Is once a day enough? Or should I feed maybe at 5:30pm and 10pm?

5X per day. Not as heavy as it sounds.
I have an Apex auto feeder that distributes food every 3 hours starting at 9am and I do a manual feeding of frozen food around 6:45p

I feed my little guys twice a day, what you would feed them all at one time divide it into half..I’m going to do 3 times now causing the clown oc I got few days ago is a little skinny and I’d like him to be plump like my female is also to build immune system

Only my opinion, but I think how quickly the food is consumed is more important than the times per day. If you feed a little bit several times and they consume it in a few minutes you're good. If you feed one big meal a day and the livestock let some float around the tank until it settles it is probably too big a meal.

My fish are hogs, but they only get fed once per day, and they are still fat and happy. I do feed Plankton for the inverts and nori for the herbivores as an extra feeding weekly.

I always used to feed once a day in previous tanks. I’m wondering if since my little guy is tiny and young if I should increase that. I’ll probably try two evening feedings and see if he eats the second time or not.

I feed 4-5x/day. And a lot each time. But my tank inhabitants and chemistry is very different than the next persons.

Once a day @4:30-5pm on the dot they can tell time now;Hilarious
Pellets soaked in selcon Sunday- fri
Saturday’s the get frozen Hikari marine feast or rods original

3x frozen a day and 2 x dry food with an autofeeder. but this is for more dificult angels, butterflies, anthias, and the like.

LRS Reef Frenzy twice a day and sometimes an algae sheet (because I'm lazy and usually forget).

It depends on the fish. Clownfish would be fine with once a day, Wrasses and some others (ie Foxface, Dwarf Angels) I would definitely do two small daily feedings.

I do one small feeding of Seaweed/Nori and 2 small feedings of LRS Reef Frenzy. This stuff:

I feed about 2-3 times a day but I check nitrates and phosphates consistently to make sure I’m good on the nutrient side of things!

I feed once a day around 7pm. They get 14 cubes of various frozen Hikari shrimps. The plethora of corals I have don’t specifically get fed a “coral food) since they get the tiny particles from the frozen cubes and all the poop my 14 fish produce.

When I had a reef years ago, I never specifically fed my corals either. Things have changed since then. That’s probably why mine grew so slowly.

Something that small I'd feed 2x a day
