If I have to like when I do a water change.

Which is about every 3-6 months.

I just set my tank up 10 days ago. My hands are like sandpaper lol

I don’t “glue” new frags to the rock immediately ,but wait few months until they are established, so I rarely put my hands inside DT. I also use tongs and turkey baster to do some maintenance without sticking my fingers there.

Just once a week when doing maintenance. I used to do it almost daily but have curbed that habit. The less your hands are in the tank the better.

It's inevitable. My tank is 27" deep and at least now in a state of flux as I remodel. Plus, past few months adding new pieces frequently that haven't found a final resting place yet. Then of course there's the frag racks I can't wait to get rid of and probably my purple tang that gets under them at night and knocks some frags off. Just no substitute for hands when it comes to handling things like shrooms, frag plugs, Euphyllia, moving rock etc. Tongs, tweezers etc. just don't cut it.
