How often do you see your banded brittle star? Also we unfortunately found a leg this am and haven’t seen Dave. Hoping he’s ok lurking in the rock. I know it’ll grow back. Wonder who’s guilty?..

Hum??? any clues . Pieces hanging out of some fishes mouth?

All I ever see is the tentacles. I have yet to see any of my stars. I bought some live rock a few months ago and have since found 2 or 3...not really sure...brittle stars. I have tried to see them at night and no luck. I just always see tentacles coming out of the rock.

I may have simply got it caught and discarded it. Really no way of telling. If it only lost one tentacle it will be fine. :)

All you ever see are attached or detached tentacles? I’m confused lol. I’m bummed I haven’t seen Dave since we got him. Except for the detached tentacle..

No, all I see are attached tentacles. I have never seen my brittle stars out, even at night when I use a flashlight. They just stick out their tentacles to feed from the rock.

I stalk with a flashlight at night to find him and others like the emerald crab lol

So Dave just started waving hi from behind the rocks so I now know he’s still alive after whatever happened to him last night. Hoping he comes all the way out so I can check him out for any other injuries. Yeah Dave!!

That's the funny thing, I have a emerald crag that only comes out at night and I rarely see it, while other emerald crabs I had would stay out all day with no issues. I would love to see my brittle stars as I didn't buy them, they came on the live rock, but no dice. :( :)

Yeah our emerald only comes out at night typically but we did see her earlier during evening feeding time surprisingly.

I’ve been seeing ours more and more as time has gone by. One night he was all the way out moving along the sand. Other times we see him in the rocks. Seems to be doing well.

I have others but they are hideing my banded is somewhere, he comes out once in awhile .these 2 came out.
