How often do you stick your hands in your tank?

I try to limit getting my hands in the tank with tongs, but sometimes it is necessary. With multiple tanks (5), one of them will need something done on a daily basis.

Usually have my hand in there daily to feed and drop in nori strips. But sometimes I'll run into a bacteria problem (at least as of late) and have to keep my arm in there for a long period of time turkey blasting everything.

Every single day. There’s always something that needs fixed or turned right side up again or a suction cup somewhere that let loose. That and I have two urchins so they move things around that I have to put back almost every day.

fingers? probably 2-3x/week, when i feed pellets. i like to submerge them as i feed to make them sink quicker.
arm? probably 1-2x/week, as i have to reposition corals on the sand as my CUC likes to move things around.

i tend to use my VCA tongs more than anything so i don't put my hand in the water often. also, whenever i put my arm in the water i use arm-length gloves.

I'd say about once a week for me. More if necessary. I'm not too strict on it, but I do avoid it when it isn't necessary.

Unfortunately, I currently only have one tank... so my DT also doubles as a frag tank most of the time.
My DT has magnetic frag racks all over. I also have conchs, urchins, shrimp, and crabs that tend to move/knock over things all the time. Things fall.... Or the racks always need to be moved to clean something....

So my hands end up in my tank daily, often multiple times per day.

I do have the full arm length gloves if I need to do something on the sand bed, but if it's less than my elbow, I just reach in bare handed.

Several times a week without gloves - I only really use gloves when my foxface is in trouble (I have one heck of a story about the time a pair of thick-ish gloves saved my foxface - and my hand for that matter, if I didn’t find gloves my hand would’ve been in there and helping him bare hand).

In my nano, I tend to use my hands to scrape the glass as well as right coral (Whoever said conches aren’t a nightmare was very wrong). The rest of the time I have my hand in the tank is to do a waterchange or put coral - sometimes even small rocks - back in their spots.
