does anyone know how often a frog spawn splits? Im curious about a year ago i bought i guess you can call a colony of frog spwan on a large tree looking thing that has 5 main branches on it with 1 large head per branch so i have 5 large heads. For about 8months nothing happened bu that i mean no extra growth then i noticed all the heads started to split over about the space of a month i went from having 5 big head to 10 smaller heads. Which i thought cool there splitting. Then i want to say maybe 3 or 4 weeks later it looked as if the 10 smaller heads were splitting again now 2months later i now have 3-5 head per branch. On 1 of the branches i have 3 small head and 1 medium size head it looks as if the medium head is splitting again. It is normal for a frog spawn to split so many times in such a short period of time?

Once they get established and "happy" they can grow new heads pretty frequently. I wouldn't say your situation sounds abnormal at all. I don't keep track of head count on mine, but I know I will occasionally prune it back, and in what seems like in no time at all it grows out again.

thanks i was just wondering thats the first frog spawn i've ever had so i wasnt sure if that was a normal growth rate or not
