Some people do weekly, biweekly or once a month. I do once a month myself and everything is fine. Every tank is different it you need to moniter your parameters and do water changes as needed.

Since you have a Fish only tank (and a fairly light bio-load), you can run nitrates up fairly high. Your nitrates are also going to be reflected in the amount of food you feed. Accordingly, the only test kit I’d have is a nitrate kit. When my nitrates got to 40ppm, I’d do a water change. If I were to guess (and again, I have no idea what you are feeding), I’d guess once a month, if not longer.
