How often to test strontium?

I test alk,cal,mg and check salinity every couple days po and nitrate weekly. Was questioning how often on strontium? Have been doing 10% water changes by weekly on my mixed reef tank.

Never have I ever.. Well actually I bought a used setup from a lady back in the day and she literally had a test kit for every dang mineral/ion you could think of and a bottle to dose for it. These test kits were very elaborate and honestly I didn't really know what to do with the results, they were all within normal limits.. If you're really feeling frisky to test different things I would send your water off to a lab for analysis and see how it comes back.

My answer would be never as I do not consider it useful. Testing and dosing as an experiment is certainly a fine plan, however.

But how fast it may deplete (if at all) depends on what you use to dose calcium and alkalinity. Some contain adequate strontium and some may not.

For reference - my 300g system full of SPS dropped in Strontium from 10.85 to 8.67 from Mid-September to early November. This is without water changes or supplementing of any kind; running a calcium reactor.
Do not bother with Strontium test kits - they are worthless.

I would Ideally test monthly... If you're not sure go with your gut and your calcium and alkalinity consumption would be your best bet.
