I'm wondering since I've had my ORA Picasso's for almost 2 years now and I still dunno which one if female/male. they are about the same size. I dunno how long before one decides to get bigger than the other. they have developed their coloration nicely and am looking forward to seeing more and more black develop to accent the dark orange. they have no anemone atm but I do plan to get one sooner or later.

I had mine for 3 years before one grew larger than the other. Now they are almost 8. Haven't laid an egg yet. My friends are 10 and started laying eggs 2 years ago. But I have heard it happening much faster than that.

is it true that the larger one automatically morphs into female? what if they're different size at the beginning from LFS?

ive had my 2 for six years now and they still fight like it was their first day together.

Going on 5 years with mine... I think I still have a few years before they are egg laying age...

I got my ocellaris in Jan 2006, they were spawning by 2007 or perhaps the end of 2006. I got lucky I guess. They are still going strong.

My ORA black occy's are just over six years old. Been spawning for a couple years. It only took them a short while to pair up. The female is almost twice the size of the male.

Mine are about 3 years old now and doing great. The male started to grow larger almost immediately.

HTH

14 years, they spawned for years but now are at the end of there live cycle. According to some articles they can live for 20 years.

would like to see some pics of them when you get a chance. :)

My Black Ocellaris pair are about 6 months old, I've had them for about 3 months or so now and already I think they've decided. My female is about twice the size of the male now.

What does a sapphire clown look like?? Is it a Macculloch's Clown?

From what I understand, this only expedites the process. I purposefully bought 2 clowns of different sizes to help speed up the process. Seems to have worked, only had my clowns for about 3 months and they seem to have paired. Don't leave each others side and always sleep together.
