How picky is your Bangai Cardinal?

I was hoping when I picked up tank raised Bangai, he would be used to prepared food since I had wild ones on the past that ate pellets. These guys I got from DD will only eat frozen shrimp or black worms. If I feed Reef Frenzy, they will pick out the shrimp and nothing else.

Personally mine eat any kind of frozen food but won't touch pellets or nori. It eats mysis, brine, rod's, squid, etc.

Mine, two generations of them eat most everything, including and in order of preference would be Frozen: Plankton, Blood Worm, Mysis and Spiro!Brine Shrimp. Pellets: Hikari Seaweed Extreme, NLS Marine. And love Red Nori, which they grab the scraps from my Tangs.

Mine won't touch anything dry or as my son used to say fake food. If it's fresh or frozen though it's all over it and fast. It will pick off a bit of nori here and there though.

I have a few even one that was born in my tank and not one of mine will eat dry food only frozen

Mine eats only frozen because that's all I feed. No dry food enters my tank, ever!

I don't think I've seen it eat pellets but that's all I was feeding for a while. I do feed Rod's now and it loves that.

Mine would rather starve than eat a pellet. They eat frozen easily though.

I have only offered mine pellets (which they ignore), brine shrimp, pieces of shrimp krill, and Mysis. (They are tank bred.) I worry about them because they are not nearly as aggressive with getting the food as my clowns.

Mine will only eat frozen mysis. Just tried to feed him pellets when i saw this post, but he just watched them float around. My clown demolished them though, haha!!!!!

I have five of them in my display and all readily take pellet food as well as frozen. I have not found a frozen meaty product that they won't take.

I have never seen mine take nori, though one tried to eat a rubber band this afternoon that fell from a bag I brought home from the LFS.

Ours only eats frozen Brine shrimps. Ignores High spectrum pellets & Garlic pellets.

My Bangaii will eat absolutely anything but my Pajama only eats pellets. I have to hand feed him in the corner while the other fish are busy with other foods.
