As above, apparently similar to a bee sting. One of the few common things i havent been got by, handled plenty of rabbitfish and never had a problem with them.
Have a magnificent who likes to eat out of my fingers and is always having a nose at whatever I do in the tank. I'm more worried about animals I can't see.
Think I'm right I that hot water denatures the venom protein like lionfish but worth a check.

Great fish... loved mine, but he had to go. Perfect behavior for a year, then... he ate two wall hammers and a clam in under a week.
Never been stung by one, but having mine nose around when I'm in the tank was common. As long as you're aware, I don't think it's a big deal.
As above, I'm pretty sure I've heard that hot water will break down their venom quickly.

I love my one spot, he is tame. But I also noticed after about a year he started munching on my Toadstool and a disk coral.
As long as the sticks to picking at the Toadstool I am okay with that, He killed the disk coral ...
He has never tried to sting me.

I got hit by a foxface on my finger. It hurt a bit at first, then subsided to a warm feeling. I agree that it was similar to a bee sting.

Yep, mine got me during a tank transfer and it hurt worse than a bee sting. Then again, I am not bothered by bee stings usually. Just wasps. More like the wasp sting for me. Possible it depends on your body's reaction.
