I am just curious on how quickly an acro will bleach out when added to inappropriate par. This question is brought up because my first ever acro long ago browned out in a week because I added it to too little light (100 par) then I threw it to high light (300 par) and it died in a matter of days.

I also just got some acros yesterday that came from around 150-200 par range and I threw them in around 225 par and they are doing perfectly fine so far, good polyp extension ect. If I added my acros to too high par how quickly will I know?

No perfect answer here.

There are many other factors that impact SPS and acros outside of lighting. Typically if those other factors (salinity, ALK, CAL, MAG, NIT, PHOS, Flow) are all solid and stable a difference in PAR is typically not enough to kill an acro. That's not to say it's never happened, but it's far less likely.

Are your other parameters in a good range and stable? If so you will likely be ok.

For sure.
Nitrates- above 0 but not quite 2
Phos-.01
Calcium 420
Alk- 7.5 (probably going to increase that my salt mixes at 8)
Mg not sure unfortunately
Temp 78

And I have turbulent random flow.
So I am thinking I am in a good place at the moment.
Come to think of it when my first ever acro died it was the same time I started dosing the tank it was in there was a small spike

If you have nutrients, high par would be okay imo. But your kits accuracy isnt always truthfull. You might actually have zero.

All acros are doing great since this post! It was a general curiosity

Plugged in 3 Orpheks and fogot to go acclimation mode and bleached some in under 20 mins.
With high alk, lost a couple over 2 days

Oh so I'm good. This is a week and a half in the tank. all open and happy. The pale looking on on the right came like that
