So I’m running a bit of an experiment on my tank right now. Long story short, before I added reef roids, my phosphates and nitrates were undetectable. 24 hours after added the recommended dose, they are both still undetectable. For people that have seen a spike in phosphates after feeding reef roids, how quickly did it show up on your tests, how long did it stay elevated, and did it decrease on it’s own?

For me it would show up after 2-3 hours and it would only last about 20-24 hours

It goes up in several hours, but is under control with GFO over time

Thanks for the input folks. So basically we’re talking a matter of hours, not days.

I have been using ReefRoids (half the recommended dose) for months. My phosphate has increased from 0.03 to .15ppm. Nitrate does not increase much. There are times when I brought the phosphate down but after the feed, it went right back up. Too much phosphate in RR. Someone recommended me to use Benepets reef food instead, I will try Benepets and see how it goes.
