I currently have a Reef Octopus Diablo DC 10500, which I purchased used.
Based on some online reviews the pump is supposed to be extremely quiet.

Now I can definitely hear a little buzz/motor noise, nothing extremely loud but not dead silent.

So my question is, for those with pumps that are supposed to be extremely quiet, are your pumps dead silent or will they always make somewhat a noise?

The reason why I am asking is that if it's supposed to be silent, I plan on selling it and buying a Jebao DCP Sine Wave Water Return Pump - DCP-8000 instead. I've taken it apart and no luck, same noise.

Thanks in advance.

My diablo dead silent. Is there something at intake that is lodged causing sound? Other possibility would be clogged muffler part

Mine is on only speed 2 out of 6 and I can hear it from another room, so there must be something wrong.

I took it apart, pulled the magnet out, wiped everything down, put some food-grade lubrication and put it back, no difference. Is there a way to actually open it up, open up the main body of it?
