I'm setting up a tank, and am new to the hobby. I have a second-hand chiller on which the module was replaced, and it hasn't been used much since. I'm starting to wonder how reliable chiller modules are in general. I wonder if I should cut the connection to the module, and simply run off an inkbird instead. Any thoughts?

Sorry, you mean the thermostat/controller on the chiller? If so, depends on what it is. Mine came with a Ranco as the controller which is far superior to an inkbird.
