Hello,

i have a 35 gallon tank with 3 fish, two cleaner shrimps and the water is Usually not the clearest. I have a canister and use tap water with conditioner. I’m just wondering what extra step I need to do to have crystal clear water? What do you guys recommend? Is there any additives I need to get?

Chances are the additives being added to clean the tap water are reacting .

If you were to suck tank water out into a white bucket what colour is the water ?

if yellow , carbon should clear it up

If its cloudy or looks off the only thing I I can think of is tap water can have high tds which will promote other algae or bacterial issues

Activated carbon for the duration that the water is cloudy, or a UV filter if you suspect the cloud is alive. The last course of action could be a flocculant, but the other two are more versatile and useful for more than just one situation.
