On one of my live rocks there is a ton of bright green algae. Its not long hair algae. It’s short and feels like the bristles on a brush. It does not come off easy. Should I bleach the rock? Or some other kind of chemical? I’m worried about killing the beneficial bacteria on it but it’s getting out of control.

Get some pin cushion urchins. Those things eat up a ton of hair algae. Try to stay away from chemicals for now. Try to tackle this with regular water changes and clean up crew additions.

That is a great idea. I will definitely go that route. Thank you!

green algae is sign of high nitrate. keep nitrate less than 10 ppm. remove it manually. You can do NOPOX as well.
