What method of filtration should I use? I can’t really use hob filter as there is no space on the back portion.

We don’t typically use HOB filters. You will find just adding some decent live or dry base rock to the tank will house enough nitrifying bacteria to keep the tank running.

Yeah I didn’t think a HOB would be ideal anyways. So you’re saying I can just use the rock as filtration?

Correct, something like Marco rocks is what most reefers use. It used to be recommended approximately 1lb of rock per gallon, but realistically many get away with much less.

So should I need a couple wave makers or is one enough?

dont really use canister filters any more myself but there are some nice set ups out there first what are you wanting to put in it.i mean if considering what i already said you could run a small sump and that will give you the room you need for tour other equipment thats proably best but again what do you want to put in your tank.R

I have used a small canister filled with live rock for small ornamental setups like this. You still need to get in/out plumbing but the canister fits nicely in the stand. You can also use GAC and other media pretty effectively this way. Take all of the cotton wool/sponge etc out as these become nitrate factories pretty fast.

I was thinking a pair of clowns or a clown and a goby. I’m not entirely sure. But a canister might do well for this tank.

It's still nice to have one though specially if you want to run chemipure or carbon at least that's what I use mine for on my 55g
