When I put his coral in the tank it was almost dead a little over a year ago. I've left it alone getting it healthy. It's about a foot tall now and we'll over grown. It's attached to a large rock so I'll have to cut it down in the tank. Any suggestions on where to cut so it's not harmed?

Btw I'm assuming it's a form of leather, but any idea what it's toxicity level is if I were to put a chunk in my SPS tank?

It is easy to frag. Just cut where you want, to be honest. Just be sure to have some carbon running to take out any of the toxins it may release from cut. I then get a small Tupperware and place a rock with the frag. Then just wait for attachment and then move over to your sps tank! You can even use a rubberband to hold it to the rock. Leathers are fine in sps tank. Just always make sure to run carbon and replace.

use a very sharp razor. you can actually cut pretty much anywhere. jus chose the cut for aesthetics.
Imo it wont hurt anything to cut a smaller branch off as practice before you make the big cut..
