I need to decide what type of overflow drain I am going to do. I cant do the Herbie as there is not enough room in my overflow sections to drill a 3rd hole. The biggest problem I see is that one of the drains is going to have to run a good distance horizontally. Does anyone have any recommendations as to which drain type I should use? Also if running one of the drain lines will be problematic because of the horizontal run. Please use the pic for reference. As I will have the drain on one side of the stand (Left of right prob right side) And the return pump will be in the middle of the stand.

So how many holes do you have in each overflow box? Do you have a drain and return hole in each?

Yes I was initially going to go with the Herbie but i dont have enough room to drill a inch hole for a emergency drain. Right now it is drilled as a 1 inch drain and a 3/4 inch return.

Is the display going to have a canopy? If so, one suggestion would be to go ahead and use the Herbie with the two existing holes, and simply bring your returns over the top.

You only need two holes for a Herbie. You need three for a Bean Animal.

That's what I do.

It will not have a canopy over it and I want it to try and look as clean as possible. It will be having a free hanging ATI Powermodule over it.

That is how the return is plumbed. I redid the plumbing with Red PVC for the return. I want to do the same with the drain.

Pic is deceiving but there is not enough room I could do a 3/4 inch hole possibly but not a 1 inch.

It can look clean. Here is mine

It does look good but I really want to try and keep all plumbing as hidden as possible couldnt I just do a "U" at the top with a air hose coming out of the top? also what about the long horizontal run I will have to do to get the pipe to my sump

Looks tight to me. There are "standards" of spacing between holes/sides. Someone can correct me, but I think it's 1.5x the width of the hole away from another. As @icecool2 said and showed, it can be done cleanly. But if that doesn't meet your desires, you could drill holes higher up on the backside and bring the returns in there. Yes you would gain a little space from the wall, but the top would still be "clean". Just thinking out loud.

I don't follow. Are you referring to a durso style drain?

That happens. Just support the plumbing with straps so the weight isn't on the bulkheads.

This is what I was going to suggest as well

Yes that is what I was referring to couldn't remember the name. I want to try and have 0 piping outside of the tank. (aside from under the stand)
