How should I silicone my sump baffles?

Thank you for your help despite the bad pictures and drawing. This is how I planned on doing my sump baffles, the first one with cuts in the middle as my first drain baffle then the plain one lifted about an 1” above so the water flows under then through the black filter to then overflow from the overflow baffle into my return section. Does anyone have any input on how they would maybe change it up?

Just make sure there is enough room to get a scraper or such between the baffles for cleaning

I always used Aqueon aquarium sealant. It comes in clear or black color

I always leave 2” between baffles but I use 75 gallon tanks

if your going to be using a protien skimmer or have a refugium make sure to take that into account for where you place the baffles. A lot of skimmers have a footprint of 6-8 inches

Acrylic expands after being in water for awhile. If you don't have room for that expansion between the glass it will crack the tank you are using.

I have my return in the middle which is split to feed my refugium on the right and go up to my return.

I used two dvd cases stacked to elevate my baffles up evenly where needed off the tank bottom while the silicone cured.

Interesting idea, Im going to be plumbing in an external fuge if I wasn’t however then I definitely would use that idea

I used some duct tape and seems like it was too sticky and now I have strands of tape stuck that I can’t get out what should I do? Is it okay to leave that in there or just cover it with silicone?

you could probably try a razor blade and/or some alcohol get the strands off
