The easy answer is however you decide. I prefer to have a neat, organized look, so my lights are all equidistant to each other and the ends of the tank. the tank wall is 9" from the center the first light which is 9" from the center of the next light..... I feel this gives a more even spread to the lights and reduces hot spots.
Ultimately you decide where to place your lights. If there are spots in your tank need light lower down you could place your lights over that spot instead of above a higher rock point in the tank, for instance.
thank you!
Part of the answer depends on what you are trying to accomplish in your tank. Do you want even lighting for all of you corals? Do you want high and low light areas? Many also try to limit light spill into the room so as much of the PAR as possible goes into the tank and not into the surrounding room. For many, the aesthetics of the lights themselves, the hanging mechanism, and the look of the lighting itself are also often part of the consideration. We’d love to see pictures of what you end up with!![]()

That looks like good placement to me.![]()
i also did a par test and im getting pretty even low light par(100) but not enough highlight par being that i get only 225 par on that left rock structure, but im sure ramping the lights intensity should solve that
