How soon to add after fish death?

Hi!

I have had 2 clowns in quarantine along with a blenny for a few weeks. My smaller baby clown was paired with a bigger clown but there was no aggression between them. They kind of just ignored eachother for the most part. I could never get the small clown to eat anything I tried but he was pooing so I assume he was getting something, maybe Just didn't like me watching. Anyway he unexpectedly passed this morning. Every other fish is completely fine . My perameters are on point. My temp and salinity are fine. Using rodi water and mixing my own salt water. I'm not medicating for anything. There were no signs of damage to his tiny body. My daughter is devastated. How long should I wait before getting another clown?

You can go right away if everyone else is ok.
I actually prefer replacing clowns quickly so the other doesn’t get to, too possessive.
1/2” is best, same species and colour pattern increases pairing chances.

Do you see the little clown with the scream face on my profile pic? That's the one that's left by itself. They were grouped together at the store and listed as an assortment. I dont even know what he is

And sometimes that works, that’s how the “designer” clowns are created.
I just found it worked “more” when of same species, same colour and the new add is say 1/2” maybe 3/4” this ensures sexually immature male.
Occasionally even this does work.
So in the pic, the large female is 5 years old and the male 3 years old. The male was say 3/8” when added and both hit it off immediately.
You could always return one and buy an established pair, worth the money IMM.

What test kits are you using?
What is your ammonia-nitrate-ph-salinity?

Clowns are known for long lives in good conditions.
Be picky.

Red sea test kits and Hannas. Ammonia-0
Nitrate- 5
Ph- 8.2
Salinity - 35

Assuming accuracy, you can try again now. Assure good acclimation and no aggression upon introduction. Acclimation box would be helpful
