How the heck do you catch fish??

Additional dry rock is great, but does nothing for the uglies. The only thing that entirely stops the uglies is starting with rock that already has non-pest algae established. Live rock is a blank canvas, and pest algae thrives on new places it can run wild, without competition. The non-pest algae is all the slower-growing stuff that needs time and nutrients to get established.

I assume you're going to get rid of the bubble algae rock after everything is transferred, right? In that case, I'd suggest you move everything over to the new tank (slowly! Very slowly!), then, when you have just the rock in the old tank, try Vibrant. Then it can't hurt anything if it fails or goes catastrophic.
Maybe I’ll start dosing vibrant in my current tank, try to clear the bubble algae, and then transfer over some of the live rock to the sump to avoid as much uglies as possible

Yeah that’s the route I’d take. Honestly, I’ve never tested this tank at all for anything. I have no idea what my nitrates, phos, Calc, alk, or anything is. I just watch the tank and give it what it needs

After reading reviews I just bought some vibrant. Seems to do wonders for bubble algae particularly

It really cleared it out for me. 90% of my bare rock was covered in the nasty stuff and after 2 months of vibrant there’s only 1 or 2 places with it left. I’m a believer in this stuff.

When i switched tanks over, I moved all the rock and coral first and the fish last making them super easy to catch

I had to move 33 fish out of my 225 gallon tank. I used a net after the lights were out to catch the fish that stay in the water column. I used a fish trap to catch most of the rest. It helps to feed them in the fish trap for a few days before you start activating the trap. The fish started collecting around the trap when I walked up to the tank expecting to get fed. Made it much easier to trap them. There were 3 that were impossible to catch or trap. I drained most of the water from the tank to catch them. They can't move very fast in 3" of water.

I'm waiting on my new tank houngfrom a 75 to 90 gal. Marineland reef readytank.my plane is move firsthand inverts to several smaller tanks then empty the rocks and reuse the sand thus time around. Move the rocks to a storage tote and fill with tank water. Corals will go into another tote filled with tank water. The move the old tank out. Alm this has to be done. My tank has a crack but hasn't busted or leaked yet. Thank god. But everything is on back order. Might add some bacteria but nothing else.
