How did anyone excel in this hobby before the Internet?

Books, magazines (back then, there were many magazines), reputable LFS. Also before the internet age, there wasnt as many choices in equipment.

And stubbornly sticking to your maintenance cycle no matter WHAT anyone else told you...

Oh... and magazines and books.
