How to BEAT the ugly stage

Finally beat my first ugly stage and looked up that other people had success the same way. I could never get any tanks to start up the right way they all went to heck no matter what i tried. Recently took my tank scrubbed out all the algae and restarted. Everything i had rock and filter ended up sterile after i left the tank sit for a week. I got a uv sterlizer ran my tank with no lights for about a month then added corals. To this day the tank has not grown a single bit of algae nor have i seen anything else growing on the tank except for copepods.

Algae comes and goes in every system. Just be prepaired for it and you will be fine. Got a pic of your system?
