How To Build A UV Mount Over Sump?

I have a Trigger 39 sump. I have two 25 watt UV's (one off each return pump) that I want to mount over the sump so when I have to change the bulb, it drips in the sump and not the cabinet. Each UV is 20 inches long, so basically the same size as the sump.

My LFS owner said not to use wood because it will rot. He also said not to spray any waterproofing sealant or using any sealant stuff in general under the stand because it can cause adverse affects (that he claims to have seen on multiple occasions and has been in business over 30 years).

I wanted to make a frame that will hold both UV's centrally over the sump. My sump is going to be located on the right side of my stand so the drains are centered, and it gives me full access to the sump without the support beam in the way (180 stand). All of the return plumbing is black 1" vinyl, if that matters.

What can I use to make something like this without using wood? I want something straight across to mount screws into, and then it has to have legs that won't tip over. Almost like an H-frame without the top of the H and stabilized feet.

I'm not much of a DIY'er. So please provide a link to any material you're talking about. Thanks

There are composite decking boards. Looks like wood (if that matters) but made from some composite plastic material. Can be sawed and screwed like wood.

The Aqua UV sterilizer is made from standard 2" PVC. Is your sterilizer similar?

There are PVC pipe hangars made to suspend PVC pipe firmly in place. I used them all throughout my build, and I'm also using some for my Aqua UV unit. I bought mine at teksupply.com. You can also order them from pvcfittingsonline.com.

That's good to know. I have to check because my sterilizer has a squarish outside case. The casing has the mounting slots, but I don't know if it's necessary to the unit. I think the casing may control what flow adapter you use and have the ballast. But if I can just take the unit out of the casing, these would be great.
