How do you care for Nassarius Snails. What do my water Conditions need to be? Right now I have a fowlr its a 25 gallon tank. How do I check my calcium? Thanks.

You don't really need to do anything. Is there algae, detritus and uneaten food in the tank? If so, they you can keep anything from the clean up crew (CUC) department basically. Unless you have added copper to your tank, then you will have some problems keeping invertibrates and corals alive/thriving.

Your water conditions need to be similiar to that of the ocean. Here is a good article by Randy Holmes-Farley in regards to where your water perimeters should be at:

Reef Aquarium Water Parameters by Randy Holmes-Farley - Reefkeeping.com

I personally test for the below items:

Salinity - Refractoemer
Calcium - Red Sea Pro test kit
Alkalinity - Red Sea Pro test kit
Magnesium - Red Sea Pro test kit
Nitrate - Red Sea Pro test kit
Phosphate - Red Sea Pro test kit
PH - Apex
Temp - Apex and standard thermometer.

If you can keep fish, you can keep nassarius snails. They burrow in the sand so having a bare bottom tank should be a no go. Also, beware if you have hermits. They will kill and eat them if they catch them sometimes.

+1 to FishLipz. It will burrow in the sand but reappear when it smells meaty foods that have settled to the sand. Just so you know, though, it won't eat algae. It's strictly a carnivorous scavenger.

If you do not have any food that falls on the sand bed it is a good idea to get some sinking pellets so they can eat

If they start to climb the glass it's a good indicater that they are starving. Some ppl think that they are climbing the glass eating algae but as stated above, they only eat may foods. But some species will feed on the microscopic Bio film that can form on glass, Equiptment and rocks
