How to care for these?

What are these and any advice on caring for them? Do they require anything?

I'm pretty sure both of the corals are dead. All that is left is dead skeleton. How long have you had them?

My husband brought them home with some live rock. I sent him to the store haha.About a week now

Work great as rubble or even in a cal reactor .

I placed all my skeletons on a shelf after a tank crashed killing every coral 10+ years old .
A reminder of a bad decision .

Sadly . They are dead skeleton .

I figured but was not sure since I am still new to all this. I wasn’t planning on doing live coral just fish. I wanted a little live rock.. he said it looked cool and was in the live rock tank so he grabbed it. Is it ok to keep in a tank? Or should I toss it

Keep it if you want .
essentially it’s the same carbonate structure
It won’t stay white for long . But I agree . They do look cool
As I mentioned above . I had a tank filled with corals crash a few years ago from one simple mistake on my behalf .
I kept all these skeletons as decorations , but also to remind me of what takes forever to grow can be gone in minutes .

Keep it and see if you get lucky. I’m even a peek of green offers hope although looks like pure skeleton

You never know. I had some acans I thought were toast on a rock and once I got my paramters back under control they came back!

Do you have something besides live rock in your tank? Or are you meaning you were getting some real, wet live rock to seed your dry rock?

I doubt calcium had anything to do with it. I've seen plenty of corals (including acropora) at 800ppm in a tank without issues. I also have had my calcium 600+ ppm by accident before. Do you have a reference that discusses calcium toxicity?

Did it look like that when he got it? My main concern is that he (or you) don't know the difference between a live and dead coral, which means that you very much are not ready to put coral in the tank

Calcium below 400 has an adverse effect on euphyllia. Since they are a large polyp stony coral, calcium and alkalinity are two very important water parameters that will affect the growth of your coral. This coral will start to die off if the calcium levels are too low. A calcium level of about 400 ppm is just right.
