Any advice on catching a particularly intelligent Tailspot Blenny? For my clowns, I just put the acclimation box in the tank and use a feeding pipette to herd them into the acclimation box. They are not very intelligent. The Tailspot is not fooled by such rudimentary methods. It zooms throughout the tank and finds perches in hard-to-reach places. Netting is unlikely to work. I MIGHT be able to net it if its in its barnacle and I sneak the net to the barnacle from the back. I prefer boxes to nets, though, as I think it's less traumatic, but I guess if there's no other way.

Anyone have luck with this?

Attach a similar barnacle to a small piece of rock you can easily remove and leave it in long enough for the blenny to get used to it.

Coax the blenny into that barnacle, then pull the whole thing out.

How do you catch a unique fish? Unique up on it.

Was also going to suggest a barnacle! I found these on amazon and threw them in for my blenny in edition to a barnacle and he loves them! Excuse the algae! He shares that with Dot, my neon dottyback!
