How to clean my new tank?

So now i bought a bigger tank. The guy who had it before me said that it had crashed when he introduced a new coral. So do i have to clean it whit bleach? Feels a bit risky or would just some vineagar and water do the trick? It have been dry for atleast 2 months could a parasite live that long in a dry area?

Run it through with water and distilled vinegar. Ratio of around 30:1 for about a week.

Vinegar. I would not use high concentration bleach. if you already have I would just let it dry for several days. If not the acid in the vinegar will take care of it. let it soak for a day. the let it dry and you will be good. Also with most tap water there is a little bleach anyway but its to little to do any damage to the aquarium.

Dont really have the time actually :/ but could it be parasites left even if its been dry for atleast 2 months? And does relly vinegar take care of it ? Some say it doesnt disinfect

I am imagining calcified deposits etc, the vinegar turns stuff like old spirorbis to mush and your tank will be like new.

Dry for 2 months will be fine, there won't be anything living after that.

How come you don't have time?

The thing is that its supossed to stand where my oldtank (whit livestock in it ) is now. Well i could put it in a other room while rinsing it for a week but then i would need to take all apart again to move it in to where its soupost to be. And its really heavy. And when i do that i have to put fish in buckets so it ia quiet some work to do. So if i dont have to i rather not. Thanks for all great answears tho [emoji4][emoji106]

What I have done before is cleaned everything in the garage, then moved my old tank to the garage and setup the new one. Old tank left running whilst the new one cycled etc

Vinegar and water will usually do the trick. But muriatic acid known to chemists as hydrochloric acid diluted say 20 to 1 will clean out stuff really fast. It is a strong acid and needs to be handled with respect. Generally, you need to work with it in a fume hood but the driveway works too. Don’t breathe the fumes. Never add water to acid. Add acid to water. The acid loves water so much that in dissolving a large amount of heat is produced. Adding a little water to a lot of acid will turn the water to steam so you get hit in the face with acid, hot water and steam. Explain that to the ER.
