I got a bunch of old filter socks off of a friend. What's the best way to clean them? I thought washer and some bleach?

I would turn mine inside out and hit them with the garden hose for a bit. I'd then put them in the washer with a capful of bleach and wash them in hot water. Add a extra rinse cycle, then let them air dry.

But I went sockless sometime in Feb. Mar. of this year.

Soooo Since we are taking about this. I have two kinds of socks.. Felt... and a Mesh.. both reportedly filter to 220 microns. Why two different materials.. does one work better then the other... 220 microns is 220 microns.... NO? Yes?

In theory yes, but Im conflicted as you can see trough a 200 microns mesh but cannot though a 200 micron felt....
Of course a 200 micron is tiny to naked eye...

I look at it passing water through a panty hose versus a cotton sock. Both made out of 200 micro will filter out the water, but the cotton sock will get clogged up much faster.
