Question ABOUT bubble algae.

Breaking down my 13.5 tank and want to put the rock from their into my 40 gallon cube. but it has bubble algae all over it, it’s been out of the water just sitting on a shelf for 24 hours. Will bubble algae die off if out of water? Or how can I clean the rock off properly before using it again?
please help

This is it out of the water in the close up you can see some bubble algae, I’m searching for the best way to clean all this rock before reintroducing to my new system. Thank you

If it was me, especially as it being out of water for a while, I would scrub it off with a toothbrush, do a hydrgen peroxide rinse and then rinse off in tap water. Put in new tank, let it cycle and then do my reefing thing. Just regular 3% hydrogen peroxide is needed for the rinse. Just helps to ensure it kills the spores (if any are there) and kill any bits that may be left.

I want to put it into my 40g, it’s been up and running for a few months now doing well. Just have been procrastinating breaking down this little 13.5, but finally did yesterday and I had that bubble algae break out in that little tank. I don’t want to risk getting it into my new tank so I wanted to make sure it is dead before putting the rock in there.
but ok, I will rinse and scrub it in hydrogen peroxide and let it dry for a few days

Would have likley been safer to keep it wet and clean bubble algae off. You can scrape it off and do the hydrogen peroxide scrub and rinse in tap water. I would throw it in a bucket with salt water after and a pump running for a couple days for die off due to it being out of the water so long.
