I am looking at getting an Apex junior to control my tank with. I have never had an aquarium controller before, but I like the idea of having a controller. From what I have read I believe I will have to connect the controller to my WIFI router via an Ethernet cord in order to use the fusion network. I have also read that it is possible to hoot the controller to a netgear gaming adapter in order to connect to my homes WIFI? Is this true or is there better way to connect the controller to WIFI?

I use this wifi (gaming) extender with my Apex Jr.
It has an either net port and it works like a charm. Picked it up at Walmart.

Thank you for the response. With the adaptor you are able to view your tank information from anywhere with an internet connection and you can receive alerts from the apex if something is wrong with your tank?

Theoretically yes

Yes,
I can see Apex Fusion / make adjustments and get alerts anywhere I'm at.

If you want a cheap solution: visit your local goodwill and scout their $5 wireless routers for sale. Or, check your closet for an old wireless router. Then checkout DDWRT's site and see if the router is compatible with their free software. If it is download ddwrt, install, connect your apex to it and then setup the router as a wireless bridge. Boom, instant wifi connection for your apex.

Thanks for the help. I think I will try it out. I have never used a controller before, but I think I may purchase an apex

I already have a wifi range extender in my house so all I should need to do is plug the apex junior into the wifi range extender using an Ethernet cable and I should be able to see the fusion dashboard anywhere I am at using my phone?

Yep you got it. Connect to extender and you should be good to go.

Thanks. I think it would nice to view my tank on my phone and get updates wherever I am. I travel a lot and I think it would provide piece of mind
