How to convert Photos

I really have no clue what im doing with this camera..lol

I got to the point i can get decent pics shooting in RAW, But when i got to upload i cant because there in CR2 format and not JPG...how can i convert CR2 to jpg ?..are there any free downloads to do this

You need a program like Photoshop Elements or just Photoshop.

What kinda camera are you using? Did it come with a software disk? I know with my cannon it came with "digital photo" or some software where when you process the batch of photos it gives you the option to choose format. By the way if your shooting raw make sure when you convert your photos you compress the photos to an acceptable size. I.e photobucket has a size limit per photo

CR2 tells me you're using a Canon. Canon offers free software "Canon Raw" to convert CR2, to jpg. All the software, that was supplied with your camera, originally, is available from Canon, for free. http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/home

I've never used it, but GIMP should be able to do what you're asking, as well as being able to edit images.... And it's free. GIMP - The GNU Image Manipulation Program

You should be using an editor (Photoshop or Lightroom) to edit your raw files. It will allow you to adjust WB, Exp, Contrast, etc. Then you can save the edited photo as a .jpg for easy sharing on the web.

Any progress yet? The Canon software, that I linked, is quite good, for free software, allowing several editing tools that you can use, while still in RAW and then converting the RAW to Jpg or Tiff.
