How to Create Bright Pink Coraline!

I do not believe this method is sustainable but I recently shifted the color of the coraline algae on one of my rockwork pieces from dark purple to bright pink. The first picture shows a closeup of the pink coraline. The second photo shows two pieces of rockwork, the left with the purple coraline and the right with the pink coraline.

How did this happen? I pulled out the rock on the right and poured 4 cups of boiling water over the middle portion in an effort to kill a small cluster of aptasia that recently appeared. When I put the rock back in the tank, the coraline was bright pink. I assume this means the coraline is dead and will fade away and get replaced with normal purple coraline again. I plan to enjoy the bright pink view while I can!

Yes, I do not recommend this method of getting pink coraline. It was just the side effect of my new battle against aptasia!
