I'm breaking down my HT and moving my fish into sterile quarantine tank for observation today. The new QT has been set up for a week with Bio Spira seeded Matrix in HOB and been doing Seachem Stability according to directions also. I want to put the Seachem Ammonia Badge in the new QT. Can it be disinfected with bleach? Vinegar? Alcohol? Then left to completely dry for 24hr? Or would that affect the operation of the sensor?

Bleach ruins them. Trust me I have toasted many by not remembering to remove them.

Best thing to do is keep two of them. One for QT and one for observation.

Rinse in RODI water, don’t rub the indicator patch, then allow to thoroughly dry for several days. Store in the original packaging until needed again. They will last a good year before gradually losing sensitivity.
