Does anyone know a good DIY amphipod trap? I've been trying to catch them to start an amphipod breeding tank. So far I've only caught like 10 over the course of 2 days. I just use a syringe and a needle that has an opening big enough for the pods to go through. It takes a lot of patience. It'll be like 12 am and I'll take a flashlight and look at the tank and use the syringe to suck up any pods I can off the live rock.

So please someone help me make a DIY trap for amphipods.

Well a smaller inverted pop bottle design should do the trick. I catch tons in there when I'm trying to catch my fish. I say smaller because Murphys law, if you are trying to get the pods you will catch your fish.

Simple.

Use some filter floss and soak it in some Reef Chili, Reef Roids, etc.

At night, place it next to your live rock. You will see tons of pods go and start feeding. Or do the same for your fuge.
