How to eliminate these palys for good

Hi,
I have a trumpet coral that became overrun by palys. It looked like this:

When it came to the point of the flesh no longer being visible, I decided to take action and scrape off all the palys. It took me about 2 hours, and in the end it looked like this:

I accidentally ripped most of the trumpet flesh off with the palys, but in time, it made a good recovery. That’s when I started noticing the return of the palys:

How can I remove these palys for good? I plan on mounting this frag to a rock, and won’t be able to do much with it after that. How can I get rid of the palys first? And how can I keep them from growing back??

I’ve got a mean colony growing myself.

just scrape them off again now, or superglue over them.

Kalk paste!! Great way to slow them down. Be careful though when dealing with them due to their ability to hold palytoxins! Just be sure to wear gloves and eye protection if you are dealing directly with them (like fragging or scraping) why I like using kalk paste!

I thought I was lucky when I got a frag because free palys... I didn’t know what captain jerks were at the time... they are all over the tank now!
I’ll probably try both!

Captain Jerks are one of the supposed main “palytoxin” palys.

In my first tank, I put Pulsing Xenia and some beautiful, turquoise mushrooms. They turned out to be weeds that spread all over my tank! Scraping them was useless. I found that Joe's Juice (for Aiptasia removal) worked extremely well to kill them. I think Joe's Juice came with a syringe. Load the syringe and inject the liquid directly into the each Xenia or mushroom: weed is dead in a few minutes and gone from rock in a day or so. You probably should run carbon or something to remove any toxins from the dying/decaying palys.
