Now I’m facing a over dose problem but I don’t know how to fix it. my tank is 90 display plus 30 sump. I dose 130 ml alk but one 70 ca per day. I tried to stop dosing every thing during the night, but my alk just dropped too much I can’t stop dosing for one day to measure how much my tank need for one day.

Are you saying that you dose 130 ml of alk and 70 ml calcium per day?

Wen you calculate make sure you take out the weight of the rock and sand..you have a total of 120 minus rock, sand so probably depending how much rock and sand you could be around 100 gallons..

Also that seems very high for dosing. I have around the same tank and I dose 26 mil for alk

It’s a frag tank it has about 100 frag in it but 130ml is too much

What do you mean you have an overdose issue?

You just mean the fact that you are dosing less calcium?

That's not a concern if you are confident in your testing. Water changes with a higher calcium mix can cause such an imbalance, as can alk depletion in ways unrelated to calcification, such as rising nitrate or using a sulfur denitrator.

It would certainly help if you told us what exactly you are dosing.

Not all two parts are designed for equal parts dosing, not all people make the solutions correctly, and not all dosing pumps match in their output.

Good to know. I thought they were all designed for equal parts except for that esv all in one.

Do you have a ATO or manually topping off? If your topping off too much manually that can also drop the alk cal and mag

The reason I say I’m facing a over dose problem because I can see precipitation on my heater pumps and it’s happen really quick

The Red Sea reef foundation series solutions are defined NOT to end up in equal dosing amounts. For Alk dosing It requires about three times the amount than for Ca dosing in ml, for a typical ratio of 7mg/l Ca vs 1dKH Alk.

That's not necessarily an overdose. It is just precipitation. It is also normal, to some extent.

How fast does a layer build up, and how thick?
