how to fix leaking bulkhead?

Once my tank is in place and set up it’s going to be really hard to access this overflow box- I need it to be leakless!

I always do a 2-3 day freshwater test on new systems. If at all possible out in my garage. But my 233 had to be done in place, and I did find a couple leaks. So I had to drain it part way and make repairs and test again.

Once I found this thread and put the gaskets in the order you just described... no leaks. Though I did not try the method in the Eshopp's video above. I wonder if that's the way it should be? ANYONE TRY THAT??? I certainly don't want it to leak from the outer box down the road!!

Now one of the 1 inch bulkheads are leaking. this one is installed correctly and not too loose omr tight. Should I give it time to swell and seal??? Or replace the bulkhead al;together

If there is no gasket between the bulkhead and the inside of tank a leak will occur at some point. Water will travel along threads if not sealed before threads

Those aren't leaking. It's one of the drains in the back overflow box. Gasket is on flange side/and wet side. There's two other drains that aren't leaking installed the same way. Took it apart dry and clean no damage put back together still leaking

Having the same issues with my L overflow from thew 2 bulkhead on the bq5ck m if the tank. Sawpping around gaskets in a few minutes. I also had 1 1" drain bulk head leak but I think I fixed that one. I read the directions and watch the video and knew it seemed wrong but figured Eshopps should know their product and give good install info. Figured wrong. I will be happy with the Eclipse as long as it will not leak. Oh and yeah I was worried about the water level being too low. If you have trim on your tank and you use the template just pretend the trim is not there. I ended up with the water just a hair below the trim. Teeth in the weir are cut too long. I should have had the internal box all the way up to and contacting the trim, water level would have been perfect and the lid for the rear box would still have fit.

Leak fixed. Gasket swap around was all that was needed. And this is way you put unions everywhere you can when you plumb.

As an engineer, I can tell you the gasket is only supposed to be in the water side of the bulkhead as you only need one seal. You might have a friction washer on the outside but that is not a gasket.
