Hey guys so I'm thinking about fragging one of these armor of gods and putting one in my 5 gallon tank to see how they do. What is the best method to frag and transfer? I've seen people cut with a razor blade and glue them onto a frag plug. Do I just cut these near the bottom of the stock of the zoa? Can I glue them directly to the rock in my other tank or will I have to glue them onto an actual frag plug? These will have to be cut underwater because they are growing onto the rock so are there any extra precautions I should take if I do attempt to do this? Thanks in advance guys.

Yes, you cut them at the base, and peel them slowly amd carefully off the rock. You can take the rock out to do this and would recommend it. So much easier and don't have to worry to much about what is put into your tank.

Can I just super glue them to the rock in my other tank?

It can be tricky to get a clean cut under water. If you are not in a hurry you could lay a piece of rubble in between or next to the polyps. They will grow onto the rubble and it will be a snap to frag them.

Dang man, I haven't seen those in awhile! It's crazy that they used to be in my tank haha. You can cut those as rough as you want man haha, you won't kill them. You can even cut it in half and it will grow back together....As in making two out of one.
Go nuts man

Yea they have really taken off. Probably my favorite piece in the tank because they give me no issues.

On another note, picture you changed I see.

Yea but those other suckers are a little harder to grow. I only have a whopping four polyps lol. But it's a lot better that when I first got them and there was one and it looked like it may die due to the shipping. Luckily it bounced back. I'll have to get a picture later to let you see.

Zoas dying during shipping is over rated man. I left a candy blondie zoa in a cup out in the hot shed for two weeks with no flow no nothing, took it out and back into the tank 2 weeks of sitting out there and it opened up!

Some zoas just respond different to new enviroments. While they thrive in your tank, they melt in somebody elses.
