Hello,
I am very new to the obsession, and I was wondering how you'all go about snapping pics of these critters? I have a newly cycled tank (about 1.5 weeks established), and I have added live rock. At some point, I have acquired hitchhikers as well. Looking online, I have found a group of photos (1st item) https://www.google.com/search?q=pod...=cm7PV43ZGsewjwT6sajIBg#imgrc=29DOP4pI2ddHcM:
but it could honestly be any one of those because they are small.
I spent about an hour yesterday trying to get one using a small dropper, but no such luck (and I was afraid that I was stressing the fish). I was wondering if there was a method to the madness? I really don't want to tear apart the whole aquascape to get one, and I doubt that I am quick enough to snap a clear pic of one with my cell phone as they randomly appear on the rock.

Just pods of some sort, mostly a good thing, be interesting to see a pic of yours, I would just leave them alone to go about their business. :)

Lol - Being so new at this, all this is running through my head while trying to get one...
Where are they now that I'm ready? I always see them running around.
How on earth do they get a pic?
Will this dropper even grab one?
Should I even be doing this? This is definitely stressing out the fish with my hand in the tank.
Am I going to end up killing these pods because I am stressing them out?
What if they are beneficial and I am screwing things up?
What if they are harmful and I am missing them?
How on earth would I even get them out if they are harmful?
....
Holy heck! lol
I am under the premise that this is what should be there, but I'd rather have a positive id, and I don't know how to grab a pic to post it here.
Looking at those pics above, it could be any one of them...

Could be this one, which happens to be a seahorse, (that would be EPIC - Highly unlikely, but AWESOME).
Just nervous as heck at things that I didn't invite being in the tank, and hoping for the best

That's an amphipod dude, not a sea-horse. It's a small crustacean which serve as a food source in our tanks. Fish eat them and they live in rocks.

That isn't the one from my tank...just a pic I found online, but it had said it was a seahorse. Mine are whiteish like that, but I still have yet to get a pic

The picture above is a tiger amphipod. A seahorse larva looks like

Try lionfish liar's hitchhiker guide. I don't think the one you're using is very accurate...
