Well your tank is at least 8mo old, I've had issues in past as well with extension and what I've learned besides water quality is lighting. Need to have the right par levels. I have researched this issue for months and the worst it ever was when I switched to LED lighting. I went to an IC pro, messed with the lighting on it and still couldn't get a good mix. Long story short, after raising my salinity to 35 or .0126 my polyps after a week was better but not great. I recently mixed my LED with an old T5 Ballast with ati blue+ and coral+ light and boom, almost immediately my corals looked better and became more photosynthetic. It's been over a month and still.looks great. For my 46bow with mixing T5s and LED, I cant complain. That's what worked for me at least.

Someone on R2R said on zoa's less light, the polyps raise up? Just an idea

Interesting, i was also thinking about switching back to t5, especially some of my Softies Arent That happy With my Radions. At First i will Push My salinity up a Bit.

this is true, as light is lower on the par, theyll being to reach up towards the light resulting in a long zoa polyp

The Shop Had all Corals under a big rack of AI Hydras But Maybe the Hydra, just hit the Spectrum for the Softies a Bit better. I was just wondering because this toadstool is the only one of mine That Never Open completly....At First i will Raise my salinity and next week will be the light change back to ATI‘s T5

It's not a guarantee, but it did work for me. Also with adequate flow as stated above. I'm really crossed on LEDs vs T5s. But I've read some really good success stories on the mix of both. Maybe someone can chime in but this always seems to become a.major discussion lol

I will Give a Try, i Mean of the Show Tank of this Shop is also just confusing, they Basically Change the lights like Every 3 months to something Else and the Tank always Looks awesome for a Softie, lps one. I Know That they are Running Zeoltith on it....Here is a picture

That looks awesome! Actinic was something I always thought I needed years ago until I discovered coral + t5s and blue +. The actinic is washed out by the blue + but corals love the 420nm to 460nm. The coral+ is around 440 to 460nm, unless you visually like the actinic, the blue+ and coral+ together along with some 10k lighting and I achieved a look as well got what I've aimed for with this mix. In theory this should be the perfect weather for corals, soft or hard. But I always like to hear what others are using or not using while having the same success

I read a week or so ago that someone's softies achieved better growth and extension with less blue. I have been trying it myself and have had good results.
