How to get cycled media

Hi is there any way I can get good bacteria from my current tank with out getting they bad stuff too? I was thinking of putting a sponge in the sump and then putting it on the new tank thx.

What bad stuff do you mean?

And yes. A sponge or ceramic bio balls are what I use.

Bad stuff meaning bryopsis and hair algae(yes both)

Ah, got it.
Gha is tough it just is. CUC and snails. Fluconazole is the miracle cure for bryopsis. If you haven seen it yet. Works a bit on Gha

I'm not 100% convinced that if you put the media in a bag that the algaes would be a problem.
