I'm about to move, so I need to remove a number of fish, including a delicate CBB. Does anyone have suggestions for ways to get them out without harming them? A net seems like my best/only option, but I'm worried about snagging fins, gills, etc.

Using my hands seems completely impractical.

Any other suggestions? I guess I could try a specimen container? Thanks!

Remove the rocks and syphon the water out, the lower the water level, the easier it is to net them, they usually just go to a corner.

the other obvious solution is a fish trap but i've never attempted a diy one. The commercial ones work great if you're patient and the fish are hungry enough.

I don't see why not. Are you suggesting taking the water level super low and going in with my hands?
Yes. You might be able to get them with your hands that way. Even if you end up having to use a net it will be much less chasing and stress on the fish.
