How to get low Alk??

I was looking into possibly trying the Triton method on my already up and running tank. My question is on the Alk. From what I read you are supposed to maintain your Alk at 8. I can't get that low. I run at 10 with a very light dose of BRS 2 part. Looking at salts that are out there they all seem to be way over 8. I am currently using Fritz Pro salt and it is 8.5.
I assume I am missing something but I can't figure out what.

I recommend 7-11 dKH, not exactly 8 dKH.

If you want it lower than 10 dKH, stop dosing.

If you really want to, you can use a low alk salt mix, or add acid to any of them to lower it more.

stop dosing BRS 2 part, let the kh at 8 and then send your water for test.
