I have 75 gallon tank n have 11 fishes that u feed 2 cubes of masis and pallet food but can get my nitrates and phosphates to show up on test kits. Can someone suggest what can I dose to get my numbers up

What test kits are you using? Are u running any reactors/refugium

You can dose them search DIY nitrate dosing and then can create a dosing fluid using either potassium nitrate or sodium? Nitrate read through posts though find links for calculators. Brightwell makes a phosphate liquid (nitrate too) for dosing in ULNS. Are you carbon dosing or anything?

Why do you want to increase your nitrates and phosphates? Are you noticing negative changes? Are you just trying to get the test kit to show numbers higher than zero? Don't forget all test kits have a margin of error.
1. Easiest way is feed more, both fish and corals.
2. Another easy way is to decrease filtration. Cut back lights on fuge to only certain hours a day, remove filter socks, remove reactors ...
3. You can dose but feeding more will lead to healthier fish/corals and elevated nutrients.

I dose Seachem Flourish Nitrogen. I dose about 3ml a day to maintain 2-5 ppm nitrates. I dont test for phosphates much so cant recommend anything.

I'm getting dinoflag
Same question as Halal.

@Navi What is your filtration like now? How old is the tank? Do you have corals?
i used to use filter socks but now I'm just using omega 130
Skimmer on 75 gallon tank
With 30 gallon sump. Tank is a little over 2 months used dry rock with live sand. I have few soft n Lps corals my gsp and sunny d aren't opening cause of dino bloom that's y trying to raise my nutrients

Jump over to my Dino thread and start getting into the info and links on the first post.
Dinoflagellates – Are You Tired Of Battling Altogether?

First make sure what you have is dino's (sound likely...ID steps are on that thread).

If you can get some pics or a movie through a microscope and post them, we can help with ID...this is ideal and a scope doesn't have to cost more than $10-20 (toy scope). There are non-scope ways to ID them in the thread too though.

If it is dino's, you'll want to get some potassium phosphate and potassium nitrate (eg. brightwell or seachem) and raise your levels that way.

Holler when you get that far! :)

I run my DT pretty low in nutrients. I run chaeto in my sump. I run My nitrates at 1-2 ppm. I have been dosing KNO3, Spectracide. I am switching over to reagent grade NaNO3.

My phosphates also require dosing. I test with Hanna ULR. I run the phosphates at about 10 ppb. I dose with Neophos by Brightwell Aquatics.

There are a number of ways to handle this. You can feed more. You can export less. You can dose. Or you can do a combination.

I have been using spectacide & Sea chem, phosphorus . Be care not to over dose. I did this & now have bad algae.
